About this Position

As our Lead Upstream Special Project, you will lead the development and execution of ASTRO's upstream supply initiatives, with a focus on building fresh produce collecting points to improve SKU availability and fulfillment. You will bridge sourcing, commercial planning, upstream operations, and field execution, taking projects from feasibility study and process design to implementation and scaling.

Job Description:

As our Astronaut, your missions are:

• Lead the end-to-end setup and implementation of fresh produce collecting point projects.
• Source fruits and vegetables from farmers, suppliers, traders, and wholesale markets.
• Monitor market prices, supply availability, seasonality, and market dynamics to support sourcing decisions.
• Build and manage relationships with farmers, suppliers, traders, and other upstream partners.
• Set up and oversee collecting point operations, including receiving, sorting, grading, and quality control.
• Develop processes and monitoring systems to improve fulfillment, supply reliability, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop scalable solutions for upstream supply projects.
• Work closely with Category, Commercial, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful project execution.

In order to launch the missions successfully, you need to have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in fresh produce, agriculture, agritech, sourcing, procurement, or related industries.
• Strong experience in fruits & vegetables / fresh produce is highly preferred.
• Experience in sourcing, procurement, category buying, or upstream operations.
• Experience managing farmers, suppliers, traders, or upstream supply networks.
• Experience in setting up or managing collecting points, collection facilities, processing houses, or similar operations is a strong plus.
• Strong understanding of fresh produce pricing, supply, quality, and market dynamics.
• Experience sourcing from wholesale markets / Pasar Induk is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to take projects from 0 to 1, from feasibility assessment through hands-on implementation.
• Strong commercial, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in the field and directly engaging with upstream partners.
• Open to all educational backgrounds. Agriculture, Agribusiness, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related disciplines are a strong plus.
